Easy Tiger, the Australian production company behind Colin From Accounts, has secured TV rights to Dervla McTiernan's psychological thriller Three Reasons for Revenge, Deadline reported exclusively on 3 November 2026.
According to TV Tonight, the rights were won following a heated auction, and the novel went straight to number one on the Australian bestseller charts across all genres.

Shaun Grant to write the adaptation

TV Tonight reports that Shaun Grant will write the screenplay. His credits include The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Snowtown and True History of the Kelly Gang.
Those are all dark, character-driven Australian dramas, which suggests a writer well versed in the kind of unsettling material the book trades in. Easy Tiger's slate, as TV Tonight lists it, also includes The Twelve and Scrublands, so the company has form with crime and thriller drama as well as comedy.

Three gifts, three Melbourne houses: the premise behind the bidding war

IF Magazine describes the novel as following three mysterious gifts delivered to three very different houses in Melbourne. Each is tailored to its recipient, and each is set to tear apart the life of its intended target.
It is a self-contained, multi-strand hook of the sort that suits episodic television, though no format, episode count, broadcaster or release date has been announced.

McTiernan's growing screen footprint

Three Reasons for Revenge is not the first McTiernan book to attract screen interest. TOB News notes that several of her earlier works have been optioned, including her debut novel The Ruin, What Happened to Nina? and The Murder Rule.
The new deal adds a standalone psychological thriller to a list of optioned titles that, in that report, otherwise reads as crime and legal suspense.
For a reader's-eye view, the novel follows Detective Sergeant Judith Lee as three tailored packages wreck three lives. For LuvemBooks' verdict on the book itself, read our review of Three Reasons for Revenge.
