Nick and Laurie have barely encountered the Spiderwick secrets when a huge task awaits them: preventing the return of giants. The colossi, long dormant deep underground, are pushing to the surface and laying everything to waste. Only the song of the nixies can banish them, but no nixie sings for free, so the siblings must strike a slippery bargain.
Nick and Laurie thought they had done the right thing when they lured the reawakened giants out to sea. Now they learn it was a fatal mistake. The giants were meant to defend against a far more dangerous creature—the terrible Wyrm. With the giants resting on the ocean floor and the mermaids refusing to release them, nothing can stop the Wyrm King’s attack.
